Fabulous at 50 and Beyond?
It’s my birthday week! Only two more days till my actual birthday. I always take the time around my birthday to reassess any goals I made at the start of the year. I think about what I want to create and bring into my life on my next 365 days journey around the world. I also look at the goals I created back in January…what needs more focus and what needs to shift in priorities.
This year I’m really thinking about what the upcoming year will look like as my birthday NEXT year is a BIG one! I want to look and feel my best for that birthday next year. The best I have ever felt and looked. The Anti-aging industry is a mutli billion-dollar industry. But for me this is about more than anti-aging creams, Botox, and hitting my goal weight. I want to move into that year feeling the most vital, healthy, and energized I’ve ever been.
How to Reverse Aging
This got me thinking about ways to feel younger and more vital. I have been doing a lot of research into how we can slow down and even reverse aging. Ways that we can reduce pain and inflammation, be free of disease and conditions, be more energized than ever, achieve our goal weight, have glowing skin, and be our most vital selves so we can truly live a more joyful life!
I remember researching the idea of Biohacking a few years ago and trying some of the tips and tools here and there, but this is beyond looking your best and being stronger in workouts. This is about reversing what is called your Bio Age. We have our chronological age, which is what we hit from year to year on our birthdays. But our Biological Age is how old are bodies really are on the inside. How old is your liver, brain, cells, etc. You can be 50 but biological have the body of a 60- or 70-year-old. You can also be 50 and have the body of a 40- or 30-year-old. Which would you prefer? I know which one I would pick.
Science is beginning to prove that reversing aging is possible through lifestyle changes. I will be sharing more of the research and studies done on this in future blog posts and YouTube videos. But the science looks promising and there may even be a pill in the future that helps us slow down and reverse aging. This is about more than just hitting 80, 90, or even 100 but being our most vital even at those ages. We can grow older but still be youthful, active, and vital!
As I research this more, my content will be shifting to include more information. I will also be sharing a lot of what I am working on personally to lower my Bio Age. I will 49 on Saturday, and 50 next year. After taking some online tests, my bio age falls between 47-48. Which granted is lower than my chronological age, but not by much. Also, most people in that age bracket have many health issues. So while I am aging in line with where I should be, I want to be even better. I don’t want to be again typically to others. I want to reverse aging altogether. My goal is by next year to look at these tests and to be at LEAST ten years younger on my Bio Age next year.
I am also scheduled to get a full blood panel done so I can gauge improvement in areas such as glucose levels, cholesterol levels, etc. I want to look at many markers as possible to determine if the changes have made a difference in my health as well as how I look and feel. I’ll also be taking in consideration weight, BMI, body fat percentage and more. I have already mapped out the changes I will be making and I will be sharing those as well.
I have decided to really dig into this idea of reversing aging. I am going to spend the next year focusing on lifestyle changes that I can make to achieve the best me I can for my big birthday next year. In addition to doing more research, I am going to be doing some experimenting with myself to see what works well and what doesn’t. AND…I’m going to share it all with you.
