2020 has been a wild ride so far, am I right? It has felt like the longest year ever, but also I can’t believe we are almost to Fall! I have not been blogging or filming as much, because I have had so many changes in my personal life since March that I just need some breathing room. But I’m back cupcakes!
As we head into Fall, I wanted to share my top five fragrances I have been using and loving over the Summer. These are all in my fragrance collection and ones that I have have been reaching to over and over again since Summer started. Scent is a powerful thing for me, it can invoke a mood or recall a memory. What I wear to a day at the beach is different than what I would wear out on a date in the evening.
These are ranked in order of my top favorite and down. Let me know your favorite Summer fragrance in the comments!
Listen, if you have read my blog or watched any of my videos in the past year, you will know that this is my number one fragrance. I just can’t tell you how beautiful this is and I wear it all the time. I would even risk saying this is my signature scent. You can check out my full review here.
This was the first fragrance Dior himself created and it has beautiful notes of Lily of the Valley, Ylang Ylang and Jasmine. Jasmine and Lily of the Valley are two of my favorite flowers/scents so I love them in this fragrance. I find this to be a light and gorgeous scent that is perfect for any gender and any weather. I have been wearing this a lot lately and it will always be in my fragrance wardrobe.
Givenchy Gentleman EDP Boisee
I went on a date recently, and after not being in the date world for 18 years, I was a bit nervous. So I decided to treat myself to a new fragrance and chose Givenchy Gentleman Eau de Parfum Boisee. This might sound heavier than your typical Summer fragrance, but it works well for any evening activity like a date or hanging out with friends.
This is a VERY sensual fragrance that has both a strength and gentleness about it. I’ve often been told that I have a quiet strength about me, and this is exactly the kind of fragrance that embodies that personality. I have quickly fallen in love with this fragrance and it is definitely up there as one of my signature scents.
Notes include black pepper, coriander, cocoa, iris, and sandalwood. This is a more oriental floral that might seem too heavy for a Summer scent, but trust me…it works. I can also see this being a perfect men’s fragrance for the Fall.
Guerlain Un Dimanche a la Campagne
This is a perfectly light cologne from Guerlain with notes of bergamot, orange blossom, white musk and herbal notes. Translated as a Sunday in the countryside, it is a perfect fragrance for any daytime summer activity. This is a cologne which means it is even lighter than a EDT, but this still gives a powerful throw that lasts well on the skin.
I find this perfect for a day at the beach or a picnic with friends and family. It is light enough for the day but still has a beautiful scent that gets you noticed.
I discovered this one last Summer at Target and I fell in instant love. These Solinote fragrances are also extremely affordable. They are meant to focus on a more single scent that can be blended with the others in the collection. The Tiare notes include coconut, peach, tiare and amber.
This is a gorgeous scent that reminds me of my vacation to Hawaii. Its very light and tropical and perfect for any Summer activity. It has a little bit of a sweetness to it so sometimes I will cut it by mixing it with Diorissimo. The Lily of the Valley of Diorissimo blends nicely with the Tiare flower and Amber in this one.
Gucci Flora Gardenia
With notes of frangipani and gardenia this is the perfect summer scent. It opens light and crisp with red berries and dries down to a lovely sweet floral due to the brown sugar and patchouli. I find this is perfect for any time in the Summer, whether its a daytime activity or an evening activity.
Most fragrances turn sweet on my skin and this one is no exception, but it is not too sweet. The floral and berry notes keep it young and fresh.
There you have it, my top five fragrances for Summer. Let me know in the comments what your current Summer scent is!
